ON the SIXTH DAY of CHRISTMAS

With weather forecast for snow decided to do a bit of food shopping so we would be able to cope with being stuck indoors should the worst happen. Needed to stock up on basics but to be totally honest we could probably feed the houses around us for a week or two should the worst happen 😂.

Home to finish off some more Christmas decor then I settled down with my favourite Christmas books.I like to have them to hand to pick up when I’m relaxing. I love a good festive book

These are the few which sit on coffee table for easy access wherever the mood takes me. I have quite a selection, cookbooks mainly which are piled up on the kitchen table but the one I turn to year after year is Nigel Slater’s “The Chronicles of Christmas.” Lots of great festive recipes but more than anything I love the way he writes. It fills me with the joys of Christmas.

Last year I got “The Little Library Christmas” book but hadn’t really had time to read it. But on picking it up today I’m loving it. It’s full of quotes about Christmas as they happen in books and film, but not necessarily Christmas books or films. There’s recipes and anecdotes and tales of the author’s Christmas dinners and experiences.
I’m really enjoying it and think I will be bringing it out every year to enjoy.
These books only come out at Christmas to be enjoyed and put you in the Christmas frame of mind.
Now to get back to them. Rest of my day sorted……….
